New York/Indianapolis — Elements Financial recently brought honors home from the third annual Financial Capability Innovation Awards presented by the nation’s leading technology innovator, EverFi, Inc. Presented at Nasdaq Marketsite in New York City, the award recognizes the Indianapolis-based credit union’s significant efforts to improve the financial capability of Americans through unique digital learning initiatives.
All honorees were selected based on a set of criteria that included the scale and reach of their financial education initiatives, the duration of their commitment, and unique employee volunteering activities that supplement their programs.
“Financial wellness is at the core of what we do,” said Schlehuber. “That’s what makes this award special and impactful to us. We come to work every day seeking to build relationships to improve the financial success of our members. Our educational programs represent a key component of that strategy, enhancing the competitive products and member value we offer.”
Elements Financial is committed to providing its members with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully navigate an increasingly complex financial world. Elements has partnered with EverFi to bring an online financial education center to credit union members at several partner companies at no cost to them. The credit union has reached 2,200 individuals since the program launched in early 2016. The web-based program brings complex financial concepts to life for today’s digitally-minded learners.
The web-based courses offer more than six hours of programming on a variety of financial topics. The topics include credit scores, insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks, savings, 401(k)s, and other critical concepts. The platform uniquely tracks the progress and performance of every participant, which helps human resources professionals award wellness program points to their employees for completion of courses.
“Each year, we travel to the birthplace of the American financial system to honor institutions that are truly dedicated to going above and beyond in service to their communities,” said Ray Martinez, EverFi President of Financial Education. “The Financial Capability Innovation Awards have given us the opportunity to share and celebrate the tremendous investment these institutions are making in the communities where they live, work, and serve.”
